A previous tip is to attach a chine log to the boat's side while the side is still flat, before it is curved around the frames. I have found that a small block of wood clamped to a free standing table can make this easy to do. I first start attaching the chine log to one end of the boat side. Then I put the side with partially attached log onto the table so that the log is underneath the plywood. Then I pull on the plywood which presses both the plywood side and chain log flush together against the block that is clamped to the table, so can glue/ nail / screw in place.
