Sorry it's been quite a while since I stuck my nose in here. The usual excuses apply. We tossed my Mom's Navigator that I built for her into the water last month, and she just sent me some pictures to share.

I still have to get my Nav done (twin to Mom's). All the housework that got in the way is done, at least.

Cheers! Barrett

Bow-on shots on the trailer right before we started packing up. What you don't see is the insane effort to get all the spars (7 of them including bowsprit and boomkin) ready to go, packed, and wrapped. The centreboard and all the spars and about 40 lbs of hardware were loaded in and we wrapped her up in a nice tarp. Then Whoosh! Off mom went. The trip was successful and this little boat is now in Maine, safe and sound. Further progress shots of THIS boat will have to come from her. As for the other boat, I have taken a much-needed break, and will get back to work fairly soon. Current date is just under a year from the first pictures in the album. I expect to start work again after I return from a trip at the beginning of the month.

Some final as-she-left-the-shed pics. You can see that I made the coaming fully curved at the forward end! I didn't want to fuss with making an angled fit with reinforcing pieces, so I laminated the forward part of the coaming from two layers of 4mm ply. It worked really well!

The varnish didn't get done, but that's just as well because she is about to go on a 3000 mile trailer journey and it would need touchup.
