Steve Dampier, founder of the Tolman Owner's Group's official website
(fishyfish.com) launched his newly completed 22' Jumbo September 3rd at the Berkeley Marina on San Francisco Bay. Friends and family from around the country were in attendance to ride around the bay in Steve's electric yellow 'Shirley Lamar'.

Also present were two Jumbos and a 20' Standard. Festivities included a beach-side brunch, rides, launch t-shirts and a big BBQ at Steve's home that evening.

Bob Lanham, a bay area sportsman who works as a pro diver for the city of San Francisco brought his jumbo to the proceedings. This jumbo may have more hard hours on it than any Tolman. It's a real work horse that asks for and receives no mercy

Think I was kidding about Bob? here he is about to dive off his Jumbo on a wreck 180' down. This guy is deadly serious about outdoor activities, but he's let the side down terribly what with no varnish on his Jumbo

 
Several builders either in the process of building or considering the design for a future project went home with plans to begin the process.

The Tolman Skiff appears to be one of the rare designs to break clear of the clutter that is "home-made-boat design" to reach wide public acceptance and recognition. Several builders either in the process of building or considering the design for a future project were also in attendance and went home with plans to begin the process.
